Başakşehir is located in the European part of Istanbul. It is bordered to the south by Avcilar, Bagcilar, and Kucukcekmece, to the southwest by Esenyurt,  to the east by Esenlar and Sultangazi, and to the north it borders with the Arnavutköy region, while Eyup on its northeastern border.

Başakşehir includes one of the most developed infrastructures in Istanbul. It has become one of the most attractive areas for local and foreign investors alike, as it is equipped with the highest amenities, luxury, and social, cultural, health, and educational facilities that distinguished the region from all other regions in Istanbul, and made it a competitor to many of its European counterparts.
